Bengaluru police have lodged a criminal case against unidentified activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad for allegedly vandalising a theological college during a protest against “anti-national” slogans raised by Kashmiri students at an Amnesty International India event. The event pertained to alleged human rights violations in the Valley.
The case has been registered on the basis of a complaint by the principal of United Theological College, John Samuel Raj. He has alleged that ABVP activists raided the college and blackened the board a day after the August 13 event was held on the campus.
JC Nagar police said unidentified ABVP members had been booked under IPC sections for unlawful assembly, rioting and Prevention of Destruction and Loss of Property Act.
