The special NIA court hearing the Malegaon 2008 blast case is likely to decide on the admissibility of the intervention pleas filed in the case.
So far, three intervention pleas filed by a victim of the Malegaon blast are being heard by the court.
On Tuesday, the NIA opposed the intervention plea seeking that its chargesheet be discarded claiming that there are no such provision in law to allow the plea.

A plea filed by Malegaon resident Nisar Bilal had sought that the court should continue trial on the basis of the chargesheet filed by the Maharashtra ATS. In the second supplementary chargesheet filed by the NIA last month, the agency said there was no evidence against four accused booked by the ATS, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.
“We opposed the intervention plea and submitted before court that the intervener had not specified how his interest was affected and what was the malice for the prosecution to not place all the facts before the court,” said Special Public Prosecutor Avinash Rasal.
The lawyers of the other accused also opposed the plea. The court is likely to decide on the matter on Wednesday.
