Police probe initiated into alleged HSC paper leak

Images of the question paper were allegedly doing the rounds on WhatsApp.

The Cyber Crime Cell of the Navi Mumbai police has initiated investigations into the alleged leak of bookkeeping and accountancy question papers of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) board, that was reported on Monday.

Around 30 minutes before the exam was scheduled to begin on Monday, images of the question paper allegedly started doing the rounds on the messaging application, WhatsApp. The matter was reported to the Education Board and inquiries were initiated.

On Tuesday, Education Board officials approached the Navi Mumbai police to report the matter to them. The officials gave a written complaint at the Vashi police station, which was later transferred to the Cyber Crime Cell for investigations.

“We have received the application filed by Education Board members. No FIR has been registered in the matter as yet. We will conduct investigations and then decide on the further course of action,” said Police Inspector Pratibha Shendge, Cyber Crime Cell, Navi Mumbai police.
