A Borivali magistrate’s court Friday rejected the application filed by the Mumbai Police, seeking a narco-analysis test of artist Chintan Upadhyay, accused of murdering his wife Hema Upadhyay and her lawyer Harish Bhambhani. Nitin Pradhan, counsel for Chintan, said the artist has not given his consent to the court.
The police had sought approval for narco test saying that it was much needed to get leads. Investigators had earlier stated that Chintan was claiming “memory loss” while being interrogated. The court Friday also rejected an application filed by advocate Vinod Gangwal, counsel for Hema’s family, seeking initiation of perjury proceedings against one of Chintan’s lawyers.
