Maharajganj: Special team to probe two cases of meat hurled at mosque

Several teams of policemen have been deployed to tackle the prevailing tension in the area, the SP said.

Two days after a repeat incident of some unidentified people allegedly throwing meat inside a mosque in Maharajganj was reported in less than a month, a special team has been assigned to probe the two cases even as five police officers have been transferred.

Both the alleged incidents of meat-throwing — on June 16 and again on Friday — took place at the same mosque in Behrauli village.

Besides transferring four officers of Nichalaul police station, under whose limit the village falls, to reserve police line, Maharajganj Superintendent of Police Bharat Singh Yadav also transferred Circle Officer Anil Kumar Singh.
