After an extensive probe, the details of plagiarism charges against IIT-Kanpur (IIT-K) faculty member Ashok Kumar and three PhD students Ruchi Mishra,Seema Rani Jain and Radha Gupta were presented in the meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) of the institute held at the campus on Saturday.

Although the meeting of the 10-member BOG continued for several hours, none of the IIT-K authorities or the BOG members were willing to comment on the action taken against the faculty member and three students.

In October 2009,IIT-K Director Sanjay Govind Dhande had constituted a three-member fact-finding committee to probe into the plagiarism charges. Following the report of the fact-finding committee, the Director had issued a showcause notice to Associate Professor Ashok Kumar.
