Playschools on private land to be monitored

In November last year, Delhi High Court had directed Directorate of Education under the Delhi government to monitor nursery schools for implementation and monitoring of land lease conditions and in case the schools did not comply with the lease conditions to cancel their land leases.

On the pretext that it is already monitoring playschools running on land allotted by government agencies, the Education department has decided that it will now monitor all nursery schools and playschools running on private land as well, to have ‘parity’ in matters relating to such institutions, in an affidavit filed before the Delhi High Court.
