Guragon goes under as heavy rains lash parts of Delhi-NCR

Gurgaon remained the most affected as heavy downpour deluged many parts of the city.

Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi and NCR on Wednesday evening resulting in waterlogging and traffic jam at several places. Gurgaon remained the most affected as heavy downpour deluged many parts of the city.

People were seen wading through knee-deep water in several areas. Commuters, too, had a hard time as vehicular traffic crawled on the roads clogged with long tailbacks.

Stretches across ITO, Delhi Cantt, Dhaulakuan, Rajouri and Laxmi Nagar area saw witnessed traffic jam due to the waterlogging. The weatherman has predicted a cloudy morning tomorrow with a possibility of light rains towards the evening.

Heavy traffic and bottlenecks were also witnessed on road stretches from Punjabi Bagh flyover to Rajouri Garden flyover, Mandi House to W-Point, Baraf Khana, Minto Road, Leela Palace and on Meerabagh Outer Ring Road.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded 15.2 mm rainfall while the reading at Palam observatory was 8 mm. Humidity level also shot up to 95 per cent while the minimum was 62 per cent, the official said.

The weatherman has predicted thunderstorm and heavy rain for tomorrow. Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded was 37 degrees and the minimum 27.5 degrees Celsius.
