Police have discovered a ball and a child’s sunglasses in the water tank in which six-year-old Divyansh Kakrora was found three days ago, raising suspicion of negligence on part of Ryan International School. Divyansh’s body was recovered from the tank an hour after he went missing from his class. He was taken to a hospital by the school but he was declared dead on arrival. A source said, “It looks like students used to play near the tank often. The items were found the day Divyansh’s body was recovered.” Sources said Divyansh’s classmates have told the police that the teachers knew many children often played near the tank. Police have asked the teachers and the administration why the gate of the compound under the amphitheatre was left open. “We are looking into whether Divyansh fell in while attempting to get the ball out of the tank,” added the sources. After the incident, the school had claimed the boy was “hyperactive” and “often skipped class”. JCP (southeastern range) R S Krishnia said, “We are conducting a comprehensive investigation and are looking into each and every aspect of the case. The forensics team Tuesday visited the spot and examined the scene. Investigators are in touch with teachers, children and other staff.” Sources said more than 30 people, including Divyansh’s class teacher and the electrician who had spotted the body, have been questioned.
