The Panjab University has issued a traffic advisory and other instructions for the candidates of LLB (3-year course) Entrance Test to be held on June 19. As many as 4,464 candidates will appear for the test. As many as 16 centres have been set up in the city to conduct the entrance examination on June 19. Apart from foreign nationals and NRIs, there are 202 seats each in the morning and evening session in the law department, PU. Other than the PU campus, there are 58 seats in Regional Centre Muktsar; 72 seats in the evening session in Regional Centre, Ludhiana; and 60+3 seats in UILS and Panjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur. The PU has also announced the traffic routes for the campus examinations centres, so that the candidates could enter from the appropriate gate and use the designated route only. The exercise has been carried out to avoid any rush inside the campus. PU spokesman said: “Students who are appearing for the LLB entrance test at centres 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 13 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No 1 adjoining the PGI gate. The students appearing at examination centres 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No 2 adjoining the Sector 15. Those appearing at examination centres 6, 7, 14, and 15 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No 3 adjoining the Sector 25.” The examination centre 16 has been set up at UIAMS building on PU South Campus in Sector 25. PU spokesman said: “The students have been asked to reach their respective centres at least one hour before the test. The candidates who will report 15 minutes after the start of the test will not be allowed to seat for the test. The candidates must bring their admit card with them, or else they will not be allowed to enter the test centre.” The candidates must bring only black ball or gel pens for answering the questions and use of calculators will not be allowed. The candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination. The candidates are not permitted to carry any telecommunication equipment such as cellphone, pager, wireless set, cordless phone and others inside the examination hall. There will be negative marking, that is, 25 per cent marks will be deducted for every wrong answer, added the spokesman. Varsity invites online applications for MA admission The department of public relations, PU, has invited online applications for admissions in the various MA programmes in the academic session of 2016-17. The last date of submission of information on the website for admission to courses of MA-I is June 30. The interested students can file online application at admission website, pgadmissions.puchd.ac.in. The last date for submission of fee in any branch of State Bank of India using a website generated challan is July 2 by 4pm. The last date for submission of a hard copy of the application form along with the requisite documents (mentioned on the application form print-out) to the co-ordinator’s office is July 5. The admission to various courses MA courses would be through online applications. PU has 46 seats in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, 34 seats in Defence and National Security Studies, 80 Seats in Economics, 17 seats in French, 25 seats in Comparative study of Religions (Deptt. of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies), 68 seats in Hindi, 50 seats in History, 40 seats in Philosophy, 60 seats in Political Science, 68 seats in Psychology, 60 seats in Public Administration, 68 seats in Punjabi, 68 seats in Sociology, 34 seats in Urdu and 30 seats in Women’s Studies.
