Garima Mittal is new Panchkula DC, Brar shifted as Karnal DC

Brar was transferred as Karnal DC after a brief stint of four months. He had taken charge on December 22 last year from Vivek Atray.

A 2010 batch IAS Haryana cadre officer, Mittal has been Administrator, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Faridabad, since December 2015. Prior to this, she was ADC-cum-CEO, District Rural Development Agency, Palwal, and SDO (Civil), Hisar.

Mittal has done MBBS, and is the seventh woman to be appointed as Panchkula DC. She will also discharge duty as the Chief Administrator, Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Panchkula.

Now all four key posts in the administration are held by women. The other three posts are ADC, SDM and City Magistrate. Hema Sharma is holding the charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Panchkula, Radhika Singh is Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Mamta Sharma is the City Magistrate.

Apart from that, few other posts are also held by women. While Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia is Panchkula Mayor, Savitri Sihag is District Education Officer (DEO) and Dr Veena Singh is Principal Medical Officer, General Hospital, Sector 6.
