A Mercedez Benz of Ashutosh Vermani, Innova of Yogesh Bansal and Creta were allegedly damaged because of the leakage on Wednesday.

Sanjiv Chadha, president, Sector 17C and D, said: “We have been telling the traders to park their vehicles in the multilevel parking lot. And now repeatedly the bonnet of expensive cars are getting damaged. One of the traders has been told by the company that it will cost Rs 3 lakh to repair the bonnet.”

Chadha added that because of the leakages in the roof of the multilevel parking lot, some chemical fell on the vehicles. “Only we traders park our vehicles in the multilevel parking lot. There are not much visitors there. We are the ones who are suffering losses,” said a trader.

The traders fear that the situation will worsen with the arrival of the monsoon. “The monsoon has not hit the city yet and this is the situation. What will happen when there will be heavy rainfall and water will start leaking along with chemical,” said the trader.

Earlier, the traders had protested and sought reopening of the two parking lots — Sahib Singh and Empire Store — which were closed after the opening of the multilevel facility.

Since the two parking lots were reopened, the multilevel has been receiving poor response. The multilevel parking lot, constructed on an area of 4.78 acres, can accommodate 950 cars. The parking lot has eight lifts and two computerised ticket counters at the entry and exit points.

“The parking lot is made up of concrete. There is no chemical in it. However, I will go and inspect the multilevel parking lot tomorrow (Friday),” said superintending engineer NP Sharma.
