Modi,Japanese PM meet,talk ‘green’

Chief Minister Narendra Modi met Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama in Mumbai on Monday.

Modi and Hatoyama discussed various issues including the Japanese government-funded Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC),a large chunk of which is located in Gujarat.

The 40-minute long meeting between the two focused on tie-ups in financial,industrial and infrastructure sectors,said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Modi briefed the Japanese PM about the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor’s Summit,in which the Japanese government was the international partner.

The two leaders also discussed new areas of cooperation like ship-building and green environment technologies.

Modi reportedly told Hatoyama that with a large portion of DMIC passing through Gujarat,it makes the state the most convenient destination for economic and industrial development in the coastal areas along the project site.
