Gujarat education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama threatened to file a defamation case against accused in the talati recruitment scam Kalyansinh Champawat, who had the minister was involved in it.
The AAP Thursday demanded Chudasama’s resignation on the basis of Champawat’s allegations. Its media coordinator Harshil Nayak alleged in a press conference that it was a bigger scam than “Vyapam” in Madhya Pradesh.
“It must be investigated to know the truth because allegations indicate involvement of people at the highest level in the state government and also at the Centre,” said Nayak.

Nayak said his party would organise demonstrations against the scam at all the district headquarters on Saturday.
In a press conference, Champawat had on Wednesday alleged that the government through the recruitment of talatis collected funds for BJP from selected candidates. He alleged that Chudasma and Gandhinagar police were behind the scam. Champawat was released recently on bail.
Chudasma in a statement threatened to file a case of defamation and initiate other legal proceedings against Champawat, if he does not withdraw the allegations within 10 days.
“Champawat is levelling baseless allegations against me at the behest of some people trying to tarnish my social and political image. My 45 years of political career has been spotless,” the minister said in the statement.
