“My elder brother aged 35 years, his wife and aunt who also went along with them are missing. Despite repeated attempts, there is no communication or information about them. We are still trying from our relatives from other parts of the city who went along with them and have returned safely,” confirmed one of the family members.

Three other members of the Mansuri family – mother, son and his wife – are also missing though the family claimed they still hope to hear from them. Fatima Mansuri (70), his elder son Yunus (60) and his wife Kulsum (56) left for Hajj early morning on September 11.

“The last time we had a word with them was on Sunday when they left for the prayers and said that they are leaving their mobile phones as these would not be connected any further. All others who went with them have returned safely. So far, none have seen them or heard from them after the stampede took place on Thursday,” said Munir Mansuri (49), Fatima’s younger son.

There were reports that two other family members from a Hariyali society, another nearby society in Juhapura, are said to be missing as no communication has been established with them as well.
