Yashasvi Jaiswal, the pick of the batters for Rajasthan Royals, is up for a quick chat. He feels that his inning was good as he was trying to assess the conditions and build it. Says that the partnerships were good between him with Sanju and Parag to make it close to 170. Adds that he just tried to give a good start to the team and that he enjoyed his batting. States that the wicket is a bit two-paced, so this score is good, and if they bowl well, they will be able to defend it. Rajasthan Royals got off to a steady start in the Powerplay, adapting well to the conditions. Yashasvi Jaiswal found his rhythm early and scored freely but had to rein things in a little after Sanju Samson’s dismissal. The southpaw went on to notch up a fine half-century — his second of the season and stitched together a solid partnership with Riyan Parag to keep the innings moving. However, both batters fell at crucial moments, and the late surge they would’ve hoped for never really materialized. Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel did manage to land a few lusty blows at the death, especially Jurel, scoring 35 off just 23, helping RR post a competitive total.
