Mehidy Hasan Miraz, at the toss, had mentioned that 230-240 could be a very good total on this track. While Bangladesh have fallen slightly short of that mark, 213 is still a competitive total, and the Bangladeshi spinners will be a handful in these spin-friendly conditions. West Indies will need someone like Roston Chase or Shai Hope to take responsibility and anchor the chase. It promises to be an interesting second half of the game. Stay tuned!

Most of the dismissals came as a result of batters trying to break free and go for the big shots, a reflection of how well the West Indies spinners kept them in check. In fact, all 50 overs were bowled by spin, yes, you read that right, the first time in ODI cricket history that a team has bowled 50 overs of spin. Mehidy Hasan Miraz tried to take charge after Sarkar's departure, but none of the knocks were as precious as Rishad Hossain’s. On a track where most batters batted at a strike rate under 100, Hossain blasted at 278.57, scoring a 14-ball 39 that propelled his side past 200.

Tremendous finish from Bangladesh! 34 runs came off the last two overs, and that has lifted them to 213. A tale of batters getting starts but none going on to make it big. There may not be any fifties on the card, yet Bangladesh have managed to post a competitive total. Soumya Sarkar stood out among the top five, holding one end firm as wickets kept tumbling around him.

PITCH REPORT - Farveez Maharoof is near the surface and notes that there’s hardly a blade of grass, with this pitch looking even drier than the one used in the first game. Samuel Badree adds that it’s no surprise Bangladesh have added another spinner, while West Indies have opted to drop their two frontline pacers given the conditions. Shares that the surface has a mosaic pattern, the cracks have already started to open up, and spin is expected to play a pivotal role once again. He opines that playing late will be key on this surface and using the depth of the crease will be crucial, something Tawhid Hridoy did particularly well in the previous game, and something the West Indies batters will need to take note of.

Darren Sammy, the head coach of the West Indies, presents a maiden ODI cap to Ackeem Auguste. The left-handed batter becomes the 228th male player to represent the West Indies in ODIs.

The captain of West Indies, Shai Hope shares that they have had positive discussions on how to tackle spin in the middle phase of the game. Adds that they are looking forward to today's challenge. Believes that the surface is spin friendly but there will be help for the pacers if they can bowl in the right areas. Feels that if you are disciplined with your lines and lengths, it is difficult to score for batters on such tracks. Informs that they have made two changes with Akeal Hosein and Ackeem Auguste coming into the side with Auguste making his ODI debut.

The captain of Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz believes that 230-240 is a very good total on this surface and they could have scored 30 runs more in the last game had they batted the entire 50 overs. Praises Mahidul Islam Ankon's knock and says they didn't expect a debutant to play such fearless cricket. Mentions that the partnership between Hridoy and Ankon was the turning point after they lost early wickets. Informs they have made one change as Nasum Ahmed comes in for Taskin Ahmed.

Bangladesh landed the first blow in the series and will now aim to seal it with another win, while West Indies will be eager to bounce back and take the contest to a decider. The visitors’ bowlers did their job well, bowling the hosts out for 207, but their batting faltered after a steady 51-run opening stand. Rishad Hossain made full use of the spin-friendly conditions, claiming six wickets to spin Bangladesh to victory. With similar conditions anticipated, the Windies will need greater contributions from Brandon King, Roston Chase, Sherfane Rutherford, and skipper Shai Hope to steady their batting effort. On the bowling front, much will depend on the spin trio of Khary Pierre, Chase, and Gudakesh Motie, while Jayden Seales and Romario Shepherd will look to set the tone with the new ball.
