It’s that time of the year when we start assessing people, places and things all through the past 11-12 odd months. Kicking off a series of year-end lists is People magazine’s Sexiest Man of the Year. And the 2016 title-holder is none other than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who picks it up from last year’s winner David Beckham. The former WWE champion made the successful transition into acting, much to the surprise of many, not only excelling at great action movies but is known for his brilliant comic timing. When the 44-year-old heard about his title, “‘That’s awesome.’ And then what went through my mind was just how cool and exciting it is…And then I thought, ‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle.’ I’m not quite too sure where we go from here. Prince Harry: The younger prince had been the enfant terrible of the British monarchy for a quite a while till he suddenly underwent an image change. John Krasinski: Take your pick, The Office or Chuck, the geeky-nerdy actor has been “the not-so-secret crush of many a woman, though it's his utter and complete adoration of his wife Emily Blunt and their two daughters — plus his talent and good looks — that land him on the list,” according to People. Drake: The singer’s made the headlines quite a few times over the past few weeks for his link-ups with Taylor Swift and/or Rihanna, but it’s his sensitivity that apparently got him shortlisted. (Source: AP)

Patrick Demspey: Now, here’s one we wouldn’t have minded had he won. But then, he has won Glamour magazine’s sexiest actor alive for the second year in a row, so we’re not complaining. After all, he’s known as McDreamy for a reason! (Source: AP)
Trevor Noah: The second comedian on the list just proves that humour is the ultimate draw. Trevor Noah hosts The Daily Show on Comedy Central, and his political views got him shortlisted for this year’s People list. The fact that he just compared US President-elect Donald Trump to populist South African President Jacob Zuma just makes us appreciate him more! (Source: AP)
