Soon after Sitharaman tabled the pre-budget document, the Opposition MPs created ruckus and both the Houses of the Parliament were adjourned for the day. The Budget session will commence on Saturday and the Economic Survey provides an assessment of the key developments like slowing growth, declining value of the rupee against the US dollar, and subdued consumption demand. The survey outlines the developments in the economy and various sectors, in addition to providing an outlook for the next financial year. (PTI)

Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi stoked a controversy with her comments regarding President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
