Sadhana: Unseen pictures of Bollywood’s timeless beauty from Express archives

Yesteryear actress Sadhna passed away today (December 25) in Mumbai after a brief illness. The veteran actress was 74 when she breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital.

The yesteryear beauty, who enthralled masses with her graceful performances in Hindi films in the 60s and 70s had retired from public life long back. The actress only kept in touch with her old pals like Asha Parekh, Helen and Waheeda Rahman.

The actress who famously introduced the fringe hairstyle also known as Sadhana cut in Indian cinema was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by IIFA in 2002.

Sadhana Shivdasani introduced the fringe hairstlye in Indian film industry in her first film Love in Simla.
