Justice League is pegged as DC's answer to Marvel's Avengers. For the first time in history, powerhouses like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg come together in a live-action movie. Unlike Marvel's Cinematic Universe, DC's Extended Universe has had mixed success, with only Wonder Woman impressing critics. Here are five reasons why you should watch this Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher starrer.

Wonder Woman: Judging by the trailers and early reactions, Wonder Woman is a huge presence in this film, and it automatically makes it a film worth watching. The Princess Diana of Themyscira wowed everyone early this year and there was almost universal praise for the film, character and Gal Gadot's work. Along with Batman, Wonder Woman is the de facto leader of the Justice League with Superman's absence and it would be interesting to see how she fares against the powerful villain. Speaking of villain, Justice League has a formidable villain in Steppenwolf, an alien and the general of Darkseid, one of DC's most famous supervillains. Steppenwolf belongs to Apokolips, a planet which his nephew Darkseid rules. He is also the commander of the army of parademons, which is Darkseid's primary army and similar to Thanos's Chitauri army as seen in the original Avengers.

New characters: Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg had only a cameo in Batman vs Superman, but in Justice League you can see the trio in their full glory. According to the lucky few who have already seen the movie in a screening, Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, and Ezra Miller especially have given great performances and brought much needed joy and optimism in DC universe. Tone and humour: Previous DCEU films with the only exception of uplifting Wonder Woman, have been gloomy, dour and with little humour. Justice League aims to change that. After director Zack Snyder had to quit due to a family tragedy, Joss Whedon, who helmed the first two Avengers film, was brought in and he seems to have made the film more hopeful, vibrant and funny. Early reactions from critics who have seen the film suggest that the interaction is upbeat. (PHOTO: Warner Bros)

Superman's return: He may have apparently died at the end of Batman vs Superman, but every comic book fan knows it is mighty hard to kill the Man of Steel. And we also saw the dust rising in his grave. There is nothing official on this, but it is certain that he will come back sometime during the film probably when the team is hard-pressed to defeat Steppenwolf.
