Happy Birthday Kangana Ranaut: Style file of Bollywood’s fashion ‘Queen’

'Queen' of hearts Kangana Ranaut celebrates her 27th birthday on March 23. The actress who has come a long way in Bollywood for the past 8 years is 27 films old, with the latest one 'Queen' being a superhit. The pretty actress with perfect curls and curves will soon be seen in 'Revolver Rani', 'Ungli' and 'I Love You'. Here's wishing Kangana a very Happy Birthday!

Kangana Ranaut has come a long way not only in terms of her acting career but also when it comes to her fashion sense and style quotient. Hailing from a small town, the actress herself admitted in an interview to importance she has given to become fashion conscious, in trying to create a niche for herself in the industry. Today, Kangana tops the best-dressed list in Bollywood. Here are a few of her looks we thought were simply outstanding.

Kangana has made her love for Burberry quite plain – she was stylish is a Burberry creation featuring peacock shades, the midnight blue strapless top was gorgeous on the shimmery green sequined skirt. Another magazine launch also saw Kangana dressed to kill in a red Burberry dress, which she paired with nude coloured shoes. For the trailer launch of ‘Krrish 3’ the actress turned heads with her pale coloured strappy belted dress also by Burberry.

Kangana has quite a penchant for baby doll dresses. She been spotted in these on more occasions than one, but, they do tend to suit her frame. She was the epitome of old-charm style in a pink flair number with pearls and black number at the GQ Awards 2013. For her website launch, she wore a similarly patterned dress by Topshop.

Seen here with Freida Pinto and Sabine Heller at a winter gala in Gstaad, Kangana was absolutely stunning in a deep green Gauri and Nainika gown with a lace neckline. The retro curls and the bright lips made the whole look stand out beautifully. Another winner was when she wore a black lace Stella McCartney dress with matching pumps and bright red lips.

Another look that we absolutely loved and felt it needed a place on our list was her glammed down yet beautiful getup for a film promotion. Kangana picked a soft pastel coloured maxi dress by Geisha creations. A neutral make-up look and a soft wavy hair-do completed her look. An award function also saw the actress go for a soft peach satin draped gown by Dior with minimal makeup and no bling.

Kangana has a good understanding of her body size and even though the actress is petite she makes the right choice to avoid looking too overwhelmed when it comes to floor-length outfits. She looked absolutely stunning in this black Gucci gown with the net plunging neck. The actress let the gown do the talking as she gave jewellery a miss and accessorized with a Gucci studded clutch, deep red lips and a soft wavy hair-do.

Kangana ranks high on our list in terms of elegance as well. We applaud her for her ‘less is more’ notion. However, when required she knows how to glam things up. For the music launch of ‘Queen’ Kangana picked a simple blue sheath dress by Dolce & Gabbana. The delicate silver trim went perfectly with her strappy Gynetta Louboutin sandals. A sunny day at the derby saw her in black Dolce & Gabbana separates with a cream coloured feathery hat that went well with the lace detailing on her blouse.

This nude coloured shimmery Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna sheer dress definitely made it to our list as Kangana looked classy yet sexy without showing off too much skin. The no-jewellery look and natural make-up worked beautifully complementing the dress.

Though Kangana doesn’t wear Indian outfits too often, when she does it’s always with style, bringing something uniquely her own to the look. She attended a fashion show in a dual-toned sari by designer Manish Malhotra paired with a pretty lace blouse. And we were absolutely bowled over with this multi-coloured anarkali by Manish Arora that she wore to a film promotional event. The gold jewellery and the updo really accentuated the look.

Even on days that she doesn’t feel the need to get all glitzy and glamorous, Kangana still manages to put together an interesting look. For a movie date the actress showed off her sexy legs in denim cutoffs with a basic tee and sneakers. For the screening of her own film, ‘Queen’, Kangana went sexy schoolgirl in a black top, floral mini skirt and ankle leather boots with knee-length socks.
