Dangal: Not Aamir Khan, let’s talk about his Dangal daughters Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra

Aamir Khan, as Mahavir Singh Phogat, is all set to come onscreen in his much-awaited film Dangal. But as the Dangal trailer landed today, we not only loved him but the two new faces who will play his daughters in the film -- Fatima Sana Shaikh as Geeta Phogat and Sanya Malhotra as Babita Kumari. The film is based on the life of Mahavir who trained his daughters in wrestling and proved chhoriyan chhoron se kam na hove hain. We were told that Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra are making their Bollywood debut with this Aamir Khan film. Only they are not, or rather Fatima is not. Fatima Sana Shaikh is the child actor whom we saw in Kamal Haasan-starrer Chachi 420. She is the little girl who played the role of Bharti Ratan in the 1997 release. Fatima has come a long way since then and is now playing an important role in one of the most anticipated films of the year. Dangal is an Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who previously directed Chillar Party and Bhootnath Returns.

Fatima’s character in the film is named Geeta Phogat. She played the role of Tabu and Kamal Haasan’s daughter in Chachi 420. She has also appeared in Juhi Chawla-starrer ‘One 2 ka 4’, Bittoo Boss and Akaash Vani. Dangal will surely bring her in the limelight as she plays a pivotal role in the film.

Meanwhile, the other girl seen in the film is Sanya Malhotra and Dangal is a complete debut film for her, She is a Delhi girl and is a trained ballet dancer. In fact, in one of the Tata Sky ads, Sanya has shared the screen space with Aamir. And now she is doing a full-fledged film with him. Oh by the way, she is a trained ballet dancer too.

The film also stars Zaira Wasim from Kashmir and Suhani Bhatnagar from Delhi who play the younger versions of Aamir’s daughters in the film.
