Here’re the Indian institutions that featured in THE world rankings 2023
THE World Rankings 2022: Around 26 Indian institutions were ranked between 251 to 1000, which included 8 IITs. The top position was bagged by IISc Bangalore

Times Higher Education rankings were announced recently. According to this year’s ranking, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore retained its top position among Indian institutes and was placed in the 251 to 300 rank bracket improving its position from the previous year. (Express Photo/ FIle)

Alagappa University, a public university based in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and Mahatma Gandhi University nestled in the beautiful Priyadarshini Hills in Kottayam, Kerala secured the third position among Indian institutions. Out of these there are two central universities, two state universities, five deemed to be universities, one public university and one private deemed to be university. The IITs are not willing to relent unless the ranking agency is more “transparent” about its assessment parameters. A spokesperson with THE said that the organisation held talks with the “IITs (and other institutions) on several occasions and continue to welcome discussions with them” on ironing out the differences.
