None from his family was in the court when Baig was pronounced guilty in the German Bakery blast case. Speaking to The Indian Express over phone, his brother Mirza Tariq Baig said,“We are not in a position to comment on the court’s verdict. Our lawyers will speak about it. We could not come to Pune today as my mother is not well.”

He,however, maintained that his brother is innocent. “We believe that he is not involved in the case. We will move the high court to claim justice for him.”
