Freight rates slips on poor cargo movements

Transporters said poor arrivals of cargo and higher availability of trucks,mainly pulled down freight rates.

Freight rates for 10-tonne pay load section declined up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market on Saturday following excess position of trucks amid less movements of cargo.

Delhi to Pondicherry,Chennai and Banglore rates slipped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 43,000,Rs 34,500 and Rs 35,000,respectively.

Kochi,Coimbatore and Hyderabad freights went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 49,000,Rs 46,000 and Rs 29,000,respectively.

Rates to Kolkata,Mumbai and Vijaywada also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000,Rs 19,000 and Rs 31,000,respectively.
