A Sessions court on Saturday rejected the bail plea of three Mantralaya officials allegedly involved in the Adarsh missing file case. Judge S D Kulkarni passed the order.

A Sessions court on Saturday rejected the bail plea of three Mantralaya officials allegedly involved in the Adarsh missing file case. Judge S D Kulkarni passed the order.

Special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and CBI prosecutor Kavita Patil said,“The CBI is in the process of investigation and letting the accused— Waman Rawool,Nandkumar Narvekar and Gurudutt Wajpe— out could hamper it.”

CBI said Rawool,a clerk for Unit 12 (Adarsh society) of the Urban Development Department in Mantralaya was authorised to monitor the files that moved from the desk. The CBI claimed that Rawool allegedly misplaced the papers from the file. It said Narvekar, desk officer, was aware that some pages of the Adarsh file were missing, but still did not bring it to anybody’s notice.

Advocate Patil said,“Wajpe, again a desk officer, had asked a clerk,Vidya Dabholkar,to place a list of files in the cupboard in his cabin. Searches on Adarsh files were performed from Oct 27 to 29,but they were non-traceable.”

On November 1,Dabholkar researched the cupboard on Wajpe’s advice and found the file and some crucial pages were missing from it. An extra key of the cupboard containing the Adarsh file was also found with the accused.
