BJP’s Darjeeling pick shoots off complaint to EC against party MLA

Darjeeling: BJP candidate from Darjeeling Raju Bista on Thursday filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India against the party’s Kurseong MLA Bishnu Prasad Sharma, who is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from the same constituency as an Independent. On Wednesday, Sharma had alleged that Bista had given “undue advantage to a company under the Centre’s Jal Jeevan Mission scheme”. Denying the allegations, Bista said that he was never a part of the Jal Jeevan Mission committee in Darjeeling district. In his letter to the EC, he sought steps against Sharma and said he was “trying to influence the voters” ahead of the election.
