Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday criticised Shiv Sena (UBT) saying that that Uddhav Thackeray’s party, which has joined allies solely for power, has now turned into an “Uth Bas Sena” (Stand-and-Sit Sena).
Addressing an election rally for Mahayuti candidate Prataprao Jadhav in Buldhana, the CM, said, “When Silver Oak asks him to sit, he sits; when Congress asks him to stand up, he stands up.”
Self-serving leaders who have allied for their personal gains are now in the opposition, the CM said, adding, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have made it clear that there is a clear difference between the fake Shiv Sena and the real Shiv Sena… the real Shiv Sena is the one that adheres to the principles of Balasaheb Thackeray and has the symbol — ‘bow and arrow’.”
Shinde added, “A party is deemed strong if it commands a majority in a democracy. Those who have strayed from Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology and forsaken the party’s core values will not be forgiven by the people.”
Claiming that major development projects halted by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government have been resumed by the Mahayuti government, the CM said, “Today, farmers from this region can transport their agricultural produce to Mumbai within a day via the Samruddhi Expressway.”
The CM also directed the administration to provide compensation to farmers who have incurred losses due to hailstorms and untimely rain.
