AIMIM chief Owaisi wins and retains his seat for the fifth time in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha elections in 2024

Hyderabad Election Results 2024: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has emerged victorious in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate K. Madhavi Latha.

Owaisi secured a commanding 6,61,981 votes, while Latha managed 3,23,894 votes, resulting in a margin of over 3,38,087 lakh votes, thereby underscoring the AIMIM’s enduring influence in the constituency, where Owaisi’s family has maintained a strong presence for several decades.

The Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat is one of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the newest state of India, Telangana. Although Hyderabad first hosted a Lok Sabha election in 1952, the 2024 Lok Sabha election is only their second election under the Telangana banner.

The 2024 Lok Sabha polling on the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat was held in phase 4 on Monday, May 13, with the key candidates being Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM and Madhavi Latha of BJP. Notably, this will be the fifth consecutive time Owaisi is contesting the General Election from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, with all his previous four attempts being successful.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Owaisi defeated Pusthe Srikanth of TRS (Now BRS) and Feroz Khan of Congress by a landslide margin of 2,82,187 votes. The seat has a total voter turnout of 8,77,941 votes, which was 44.84 per cent of the total voters for this seat.
