Umpires are a crucial part to any game. You need highly trained and unbiased eyes to make the right calls; to decide what is right and wrong. A lot depends on them. Sometimes, the entire outcome of a game is dependent on a call that an umpire makes. But afterall, they are humans, and there is no doubt that they are going to make mistakes – both big and small. But if the idea is to ensure that right calls are made every time, shouldn’t a computer be incharge of it? Can technology replace umpires to ensure a better, more fair game? Should human umpires be replaced, epecially now, when the stakes in competitive sports have never been higher?
