In India, fodder inflation reached a nine-year high in 2022. This rising price of fodder became a massive burden on farmers and cattle-rearers whose main source of income is livestock. And a recent Indian Express series has revealed that the government saw this crisis coming two years ago. The government, in fact, made a blueprint to combat inflation and help farmers. But most of their plans remained on paper and farmers are struggling to feed their cattle. This crisis also came at a time when cattle-rearers are also fighting the deadly Lumpy Skin Disease across the country.
