On Wednesday, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court struck down the Maharashtra law that granted reservation to the Maratha community in admissions and government jobs in the state. The verdict in the matter is significant because it also talks about whether states should be allowed to identify and give reservation to Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
