Last night’s show featured two of the six qualification matches for the NXT Women’s North American Championship ladder match at NXT Battleground on June 9, 2024. The first of the two matches saw Thea Hail taking on her former friend-turned-foe Fallon Henley. Thea started the match on a high note by countering every single attack from Fallon with an attack on her own. Fallon then used her strength advantage over Thea to regain control of the match. Fallon tried to enter the ring with a chair, only to be intervened by Ridge Holland, who snatched the chair out of Fallon’s hand only to get himself and the rest of the Chase U members kicked out of the ringside. Fallon took advantage of a distracted Thea to punch her ticket for Las Vegas. In the second match, OTM’s Jaida Parker took on Brinley Reece. Recce went full throttle at the start, but Jaida eventually was able to stop her barrage of attacks with her superior strength advantage. Reece then tried to go for her finishing move, but Jaida countered with her own finishing move to get added to the championship ladder match in Sin City.

In a backstage segment, the NXT Tag Team champions, Nathan Frazer and Axiom were seen congratulating Tony D’Angelo for his NXT Heritage Cup win when the D’Angelo family pointed out that the Champions seemed to be ducking the challenge from OC. Nathan and Axiom said they don’t want to hand over the title shot just like that to someone from the main roster but would rather have a match against NXT talents, setting up the title match between them and the D’Angelo family. Axiom and Crusfino started the match for their respective sides, with Axiom getting the early advantage with his speed and agility. Stacks and Frazer then got tagged as the match proceeded. Both the teams were going neck-and-neck until the No Quarter Catch Crew attacked Tony on the ringside, which allowed Frazer to roll up a distracted Stacks for the win. Stacks quickly turned his attention towards the outside brawl while the OC attacked the tag champions inside the ring to make another statement to the NXT management.

After last week’s vicious attack on Briggs, Lee and Ivar by the Gallus, it was announced that Ivar was indefinitely out of action after sustaining injury as a result of the attack. The other two contenders requested Ava to add Joe Cofee to the triple threat match, replacing Ivar. The match started with angry Lee and Briggs going straight for Joe but soon decided to turn on each other as a triple threat match meant every man for himself. Joe and Wes then teamed up briefly to take down Briggs, who soon took down both his opponents with a double clothesline. Lee went for an aerial attack on Briggs, but Briggs caught him in mid-air. Joe then dropped both his opponents with a dropkick to gain control of the match. Soon, the action went off the ring, where Briggs took down both Lee and Joe after back-to-back slams. Joe and Briggs continued to fight inside the ring before Lee took both of them out with a top-rope suicide dive. However, Briggs soon turned the tide by giving chokeslams to Joe and Lee on top of each other for a two count. Briggs started to look favourite to win the match, but Gallus attacked him outside the ring and pushed an unconscious Briggs inside the ring. Lee and Joe then knocked out each other on top of Briggs, and both of them pinned Briggs at the same time and were announced as co-winners. (Hands down match of the night) Ava was seen telling the current NXT North American champion, Oba Femi, that he will be facing both Joe Coffee and Wes Lee at NXT Battleground in a triple-threat match.

The NXT champion Trick Williams walked into the ring and denied Meta Four’s allegation of him attacking Noam Dar last week, only to get interrupted by Meta Four’s Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend. Mensha started to accuse Trick Williams of lying before getting interrupted by Lash Legend, who took Trick’s side and was confident of being innocent. The banter continued until Gallus’s Joe Coffee walked in and distracted Trick Williams as the rest of Gallus attacked the champion from behind. Jevon Evans tried to save Trick, but the number of games favoured the Gallus, who knocked down both Evans and Trick to close the segment.

Lola and Shayna took the early lead and tried to corner Natalian on their side of the ring, but Natalia sneaked out under Shayna to tag in Karmen. Karmen then went on a rampage, attacking everything inside the ring. Karmen and Natalia kept the pressure on Shayna and Lola by delivering a double clothesline. Shayna and Lola somehow managed to take control of the match as they cut the ring in half for Karmen. Karmen kicked Lola with a high boot to tag in Natalia. Lola tried to sneak attack Natalia only to get caught in a sharpshooter by the veteran. Shayna broke things off only to get knocked outside by Karmern. Natalia and Karmen then sent Lola down with the legendary Hart foundation, finishing the Hart attack to pick up the win. Lola attacked Shayna after the match and started to celebrate before getting attacked by now-recovered Shayna. The duo then continued to fight as the officials had to step in and separate them. The NXT general manager then walked out to make the match between Shayna and Lola official at NXT Battleground to end the show.
