US President Donald Trump landed in Malaysia on Sunday at Kuala Lumpur’s international airport and was greeted by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as he was seen dancing briefly with a group of Malaysians performing a traditional dance.

Trump joined the Malaysian group, performing traditional dance, and waved his arm after dancing on the spot ahead of the summit with leaders of the ASEAN group of nations and witnessing the signing of an expanded ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, two nations that were involved in skirmish briefly along their disputed border earlier this year.

Trump is visiting Asia with first stop in Malaysia, followed by visits to Japan and South Korea and a proposed meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Republican president touched down in Kuala Lumpur at around 10am (local time) and is attending a ceremony marking the agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, which he claims that his administration has brokered and he is proud of it.

After five days of conflict between Thailand and Cambodia at their respective disputed borders in July, the US president had threatened to withhold trade agreements with the two countries after the skirmish killed dozens of people and displaced hundreds of thousands. Due to disputed territorial claims by Thailand and Cambodia, violence periodically occurs along their border, AP reported.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul nearly missed the ceremony after the death of the kingdom’s Queen Mother Sirikit on Friday, but later announced that he would attend the event with Trump on the dais. Trump was seen dancing with the performers before taking a US flag in one hand and a Malaysian flag in the other and jumping into his limousine to travel to the city with Anwar.

Trump is also scheduled to meet and discuss high US tariffs with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is also attending the summit this weekend.
