US and Chinese delegations have wrapped up their Sunday meeting to discuss tariffs, TikTok and the economy held in Madrid, and plan to resume talks on Monday, a US government official told Reuters.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Prime Minister He Lifeng, who head the respective delegations, were leaving the venue having concluded talks for the day, the official said, but some of their negotiating teams would remain for further technical discussions into the evening.
Talks today centered on TikTok, tariffs and the economy, the official said, offering no further details.
