US President Donald Trump has said that European leaders are scheduled to visit America on Monday or Tuesday to discuss the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and strategies on how to resolve the crisis that has been unfolding for over three years now.
Trump, while speaking to reporters after returning from the US Open in New York City on Sunday, said that he would soon speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Certain European leaders are coming over to our country on Monday or Tuesday individually,” Trump said. Since the Republican leader didn’t divulge further details, it wasn’t clear to whom he was referring regarding the visit to Washington, and the White House also hasn’t provided clarity on it.
Russia has once again rained down hundreds of drones and a dozen missiles on Ukraine overnight, striking indiscriminately — including residential areas and the seat of government.
My thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.…

When asked about the massive Russian air assault overnight on Sunday which, according to Ukrainian officials, had set the main government building in Kyiv on fire, Trump said he was “not happy” about the status of the Russia-Ukraine war.
However, the US president expressed confidence that the war would be settled soon. “The Russia-Ukraine situation, we’re going to get it done,” Trump said.
Russian launched its largest air assault on Ukraine since the war started in February 2022 by launching over 800 drones and decoys, out of which 747 were intercepted, Ukraine’s air force stated. In Kyiv, the Cabinet of Ministers building was damaged for the first time and apartment blocks were set ablaze.
Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko said that falling debris and direct strikes damaged residential areas in various parts of the city as Russian strikes killed a two-month-old child and a young woman along with two others.
Russia faced criticism from leaders including the UK PM Kier Starmer who was “appalled” over the “cowardly” strikes, and stated that Russian President Putin “is not serious about peace,” BBC reported.
Starmer said, “Now, more than ever, we must stand firm in our support for Ukraine and its sovereignty.”
