Spotify down for thousands of users in US, Downdetector shows

As per the Downdetector data, more than 31,200 reports of issues were flagged in the US as of 9:33am (local time).
Music streaming platform Spotify was down for thousands of users in the United States on Monday, outage monitoring website Downdetector’s data showed. In the early morning trading session, Spotify’s shares plunged 2.4%.
Several users flagged the problem on social media platforms like X and Reddit and said they faced login problems, along with difficulty accessing the homepage and playback issues with song queues on Spotify, Reuters reported.

Acknowledging the glitch, Spotify in a post on X, said, “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!”
As per the Downdetector data, more than 31,200 reports of issues were flagged in the US as of 9:33am (local time). Canada also reported outages in Spotify where nearly 4,000 people reported issues with the music platform and the UK had more than 10,300 issues on the Spotify app.
The actual number of users affected due to the outage could be different from what is shown as the reports are based on data submitted by users.
