A twin-engine private plane with two people on board crashed in a muddy field in upstate New York near Hudson on Saturday, killing at least one person, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, reported New York Times. The plane, Mitsubishi MU-2B, was bound for Columbia County Airport situated near Hudson in New York and was carrying two passengers when it crashed about 30 miles away near Copake just after noon on Saturday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement. However, Columbia County Undersheriff Jacqueline Salvatore in a press briefing said that the crash was fatal but declined to comment on how many people had been killed. The identities of the two people on board the plane have not been revealed yet. Detailing about the first responders, Salvatore said that officers from the sheriff’s department, personnel from the New York State Police and a local fire department were involved as officials received a 911 call after noon regarding a crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) would investigate the crash and said that it has deployed a team to New York, which is expected to arrive at the crash site on Saturday evening. Earlier, six people, including a family of five, were killed in a tragic helicopter crash in Hudson, New York on Friday.
