Ahead of one of the highly anticipated Swearing-in-ceremony in US presidential history, President-elect Donald Trump is all set to take the charge of White House from incumbent President Joe Biden on January 20 and donations have been pouring in for the mega Make America Great Again (MAGA) event.
As the Inauguration Day is just a week away, several tech giants and major software and automobile companies have come forward and reportedly donated to the inauguration fund of the Republican leader.
Trump, who is set to become the 47th President of the United States, will hold the position at a time when the global world order and the geo-political situation appears unstable due to multiple conflicts and wars.
Mark Zuckerberg led Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is reported to have donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund.
Zuckerberg also recently abolished fact-checking on his platforms and replaced it with “community notes” which is similar to that of Elon Musk owned X.
Sundar Pichai led Google, which is facing anti-trust litigation in the US, has reportedly donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund.
Karan Bhatia, Google’s global head of government affairs and public policy in a statement said, “Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration, with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our homepage.”
For the Inauguration Day 2025, US aviation giant Boeing has also pledged $1 million dollars.
A Boeing spokesperson confirmed the development and said, “We are pleased to continue Boeing’s bipartisan tradition of supporting US Presidential Inaugural Committees.”
The US e-commerce giant Amazon, founded by Jeff Bezos, has also donated $1 million for the inauguration of Donald Trump, scheduled for January 20.
An Amazon spokesperson had confirmed the news of donation and added that Amazon’s Prime Video service will also live stream Trump’s inauguration.
Other major companies which are donating to Trump’s inauguration day include Microsoft, Uber, Ford, Toyota, Adobe, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Apple CEO Tim Cook among others.
According to a BBC report, the total amount collected in the inauguration fund until now is close to $200 million, setting a record and thrice more than incumbent President Biden’s collection of $62 million in 2021 when he had defeated Trump.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has donated reportedly over $270 million in order to help Trump getting elected to the White House.
It earned Musk a place in Trump’s new Cabinet as the president-elect has tasked him along with Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new department, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
