Minneapolis Police has confirmed that the gunman who opened fire at the Annunciation Catholic School and Annunciation Church in Minneapolis on Wednesday has been shot dead.
Three people including the shooter were dead and 17 were injured in the shooting incident. Police said the unidentified shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The two children who lost their lives in the school shooting were ages 8 and 10 years old.
The shooting occurred two days after school started at Annunciation Catholic School, which has about 395 students. The school is connected to Annunciation Catholic Church, and both are located in a residential area in the southeast part of Minnesota’s largest city.
