Papankusha Ekadashi 2025 Date and Timings: Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious days in Hinduism, with devotees fasting and worshipping Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi in the hope of receiving divine blessings and attaining salvation from their sins.
The Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha mark a total of 24 Ekadashi observances throughout the year, with each occurring twice a month on the eleventh day of each lunar fortnight, as each lunar month contains two fortnights.
Papankusha Ekadashi, also called Ashwin-Shukla Ekadashi, always falls on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Ashwin, which typically falls between late September and late October, as per the English calendar.
This year, Papankusha Ekadashi is observed today, on Friday, i.e., October 3, 2025, and is dedicated to Lord Padmanabha, a form of Lord Vishnu. It is said that observing this Ekadashi brings you freedom from your sins and gives you moksha.
According to Drik Panchang,
Those who fast on Papankusha Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the Ashwin month, according to the prescribed rites, achieve Vishnu Loka.
People who contribute land, cows, food, water, slippers, clothes, umbrellas, and other items on Ekadashi do not see Yamraj.
Additionally, fasting on Papankusha Ekadashi helps to cleanse the mind and soul. These days are about more than just refraining from food; they are about developing faith, self-control, and a stronger connection to Lord Vishnu.
