Many people have documented on social media how they received the wrong product when they order mobile phones or gadgets from e-commerce platforms. A woman had a similar experience when she ordered an Apple watch from Amazon but got something else.
The woman named Sanaya took to Twitter to share photos of the order she had placed and what she received. She had ordered the Apple Watch Series 8 on July 8 for Rs 50,900. But she was horrified to discover that instead of the Apple watch, she was delivered a “FitLife” watch on July 9. She further claimed that Amazon refused to budge and has not yet offered a refund or exchange.
“NEVER ORDER FROM AMAZON!!! I ordered an @Apple watch series 8 from @amazon on 8th July. However, on 9th I received a fake ‘FitLife’ watch. Despite several calls, @AmazonHelp refuses to budge. Refer to the pictures for more details. Get this resolved ASAP,” she wrote.
The Twitter account of Amazon Help responded to the tweet and apologised for the inconvenience. They asked her to send the order details via DM. https://twitter.com/AmazonHelp/status/1678710227317805056
Many netizens shared similar experiences and advised her not to order such expensive gadgets online.
“I never trust these online portals for gadgets or expensive purchases. Nothing beats the satisfaction of trying and buying gadgets directly from stores,” commented a user.
“I returned a watch but never got refund,” said another. “As a default. No purchase on Amazon of anything above 10k,” another user wrote. “I prefer to buy from local shop/shawroom if price difference is not more than 10%,” another person shared. “How do you guys even buy this much expensive things online. Always go to stores for these expensive purchases. Or at least record the unboxing of package just for the record,” another user suggested.
