Women’s safety in India remains a pressing concern, as the rising incidents of crimes against women clearly highlight the severity of the issue. On the contrary, a woman recently shared a heartwarming experience on Instagram, recounting how a Rapido driver went out of his way to ensure her safety late at night. After returning home from the garba celebrations, she realised she was locked out of her flat and her flatmate was away.

In a video posted on Instagram, she said, “Guys, listen, I just got back from garba night and realised I don’t have the keys to my flat. My flatmate is out, so I’ve been waiting for her.” Stranded alone on a quiet street around midnight, she said the Rapido driver noticed her discomfort and chose to stay by her side.

“It’s almost midnight now, and while I was waiting, the Rapido driver offered to stay back with me. He said, ‘Madam, I’ll stay with you until your friend comes back.’ And that is just so sweet. Like, humanity is still there,” she added.

Sharing the video, an Instagram handle @indians wrote, “A Rapido driver went beyond his duty by waiting until a girl’s friends arrived, ensuring she felt safe before heading home. Stories like these highlight how small acts of responsibility can make cities safer for everyone.”

The video quickly went viral, with several social media users sharing similar incidents. “I had a similar experience in Bangalore. I had to reach my friend’s place, but it was getting quite late. I booked a Rapido bike, and the driver bhaia was kind enough to stay with me at the location until my friend arrived, that really shows how well-raised he was. Salute to him!” a user shared. “Girls,If feel safe with a guy , know he raised well by his parents & he’s a gentleman,” another user commented.

“True safety isn’t just rules; it’s the people who go the extra mile to protect one another,” a third user reacted.
