Vadodara witnessed an unusual traffic jam this week, and not because of rallies, processions or rains, but because of golgappas or pani puris.

Near the busy Sursagar Lake area, a woman staged an impromptu protest after claiming she was short-changed at a roadside stall. Her complaint: the vendor gave her only four puris for Rs 20 instead of the six she insisted she had paid for.

The woman sat cross-legged in the middle of the road, blocking vehicles and demanding her “two more puris.” According to an NDTV report, she refused to move until the vendor made good on the missing snacks.

By the time police arrived, the scene had turned into part street theatre, part consumer-rights crusade. The woman, in tears, appealed to officers to ensure “six puris for Rs 20, no less.” Eventually, she was escorted away and traffic resumed. Whether she ever got the missing puris remains unclear.

Online, reactions ranged from laughter to solidarity. One user dubbed it a “2 pani puri ke liye satyagrah,” while another quipped: “The vibe of panipuri lovers is just awesome… we should demand answers from the Gujarat government.” A third joked, “The woman should go to the Court, because the Supreme Court nowadays gives torrent justice in strange cases.”
