Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani met the digital creator and comedian Shraddha Jain and clicked selfies with her. In a cheeky post on Instagram, Irani wrote, “To all the sassy saas & conniving bahus Shraddha and I say ‘Aiyyo’.”
Posing with each other, they smirked, rolled their eyes, and smiled in the three photographs.
Their funny expressions have amused Instagram users and Irani’s caption intrigued them. A user commented, “Typical sass look.” Another user wrote, “Aiyyo this combination is /.”
Irani, an avid social media user, had made the ‘bahu’ reference when she shared glimpses of cooking khichdi with Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Gates had a frown and bemused expression as Irani poured ‘tadka’ or tempering into a vessel containing ‘Shree Ann Khichdi’. Irani had said in a post roughly translated from Hindi, “The ‘What are you doing daughter-in-law’ look #throwback to tadake ka tadka with @thisisbillgates.”
Last month, Jain had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and interestingly he had called her ‘Aiyyo’, the instant they met in Bengaluru. She also shared photographs of her standing next to PM Modi along with Kannada actors Yash and Rishabh Shetty.
A satire video by Shradhha, who uses ‘Aiyyoshraddha’ as her Instagram name, on IT employees being laid off had grabbed attention online. Business tycoon Harsh Goenka had shared her post in which she had said it was easier to forget her ex than to forget the corporate company owing to all the goodies they gave her.
