On World Animals' Day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a heart-warming video of adding a new member to his family all the way from Goa - Noorie, a pet dog. "A little surprise for Ma," says Rahul, before urging his mother and veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to open a gift-wrapped box. Rahul adopted the three-month-old Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a dog kennel in North Goa’s Mapusa in August. On his way home from the airport, Rahul travelled in the Delhi metro, interacting with passengers. The video shows a woman video-calling her sister to introduce her to Rahul. He then turns up at Sonia's house, and introduces her to Noorie. "She's so cute," Sonia remarks. The video then shows Noorie playing with Sonia and her pet dog 'Lapo', and chewing away on a mobile cover and a laundry basket. Sharvani Pitre, who runs a dog kennel in Mapusa, earlier told The Indian Express, "He (Rahul) took one puppy with him and another will be sent to him later." This isn't the first time Rahul's pet dog has hit the headlines. In 2017, his tweet on pet dog 'Pidi' went viral, triggering a row between him and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
