When one thinks of parkour one thinks of urban cityscapes in Western countries, but now a parkour video taken in old ruins of Lucknow is going viral. The video shows professional parkour athletes Harsh Maurya and Gurpreet Rawat casually walking on the steep concrete slabs that are built many feet over the ground on an old building.
The video’s caption read, “WARNING The stunt you are about to see are performed by trained professional. Do not attempt.”
This thrilling video has gathered over six lakh likes. In the comments, many people noted that the video spiked their anxiety. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Bro walks like he has 10 lives”. Another person wrote, “I literally watched the full video with an wide open mouth🙂😆”.
Last year, another parkour video went viral. The video showed a group of youngsters in France switching off the shop signs that are kept on late into the night even after the business is closed. The youngsters parkour around the streets of France and turn off the ‘interpompier’, a switch that is placed outside the shops and only disconnects the exterior lights of the premises.
In 2013, France imposed a rule that mandated businesses to close their exterior lights and electricity-powered sign boards after 1 a.m. or after their last employee leaves the business premises. However, not all businesses follow this rule and as a result, electricity is wasted.
Recently, Austrian parkour athlete Lorenz Wetscher created the world record for making the farthest standing sideways jump. Wetscher jumped a distance of 2.83 metres (9 feet, 3 inch) at Rum in Austria on May 13.
