During the Lok Sabha 2024 elections in Maharashtra, a man named Vinod Kshirsagar from Wardha district stole the spotlight as he arrived at his polling booth accompanied by his unlikely voting companion- a pet langur named ‘Bajrang’.

Kshirsagar’s unconventional choice of a voting buddy caught the attention of onlookers. In a video shared by ANI on X, Kshirsagar can be seen walking, proudly, towards the polling booth with Bajrang perched comfortably in his arms.

The video of the duo, with Kshirsagar sporting a smile and Bajrang curiously looking around, sparked a flurry of reactions on the Internet, with netizens expressing both surprise and delight. Some couldn’t help but admire the bond between the two, while others couldn’t resist making comments and sharing memes.


 

“It (Bajrang) has been with me for the past three months. Stray dogs had attacked it and it received three stitches. It doesn’t go to anyone else, just stays with me wherever I go. It accompanied me here too. It is like my child. It didn’t disturb anyone (at the polling booth),” Kshirsagar told ANI.


Responding to the video, one user wrote, “No country’s elections are as colourful and vibrant as India’s.” Another added, “India is not for beginners”. A third user wrote, “Grins and paws, Vinod brings pal Bajrang to vote! Trust and teamwork shine in”.
