A 37-year-old woman from Malappuram delivered a baby girl aboard a KSRTC bus en route Kozhikode on Wednesday afternoon, reported Mangalore Today. The extraordinary incident unfolded as the woman went into labour as the bus was crossing Peramangalam in Thrissur district.
Witnessing the woman’s struggle, the driver rerouted and drove to Amala Hospital, exhibiting commendable presence of mind.
Footage from the scene shared by @jist.news on Instagram, depicted the KSRTC bus crew and medical team working together to ensure the woman received necessary medical aid. By the time the bus reached the hospital, the woman was already in the advanced stages of labour. Passengers were efficiently deboarded to facilitate immediate medical attention from the hospital’s medical personnel.
Following the birth, both mother and newborn were swiftly transferred to the hospital where medical officials confirmed their wellbeing, alleviating concerns regarding any potential complications arising from the unanticipated circumstances.
